Interior Ministry: Street crime down by 8pct in Q1

Street crimes went down by eight percent year on year in the first quarter of 2016, according to a stage analysis by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI). "As regards the increase of the citizen's safety, the MAI main purpose, the analysis of the first three months of 2016 revealed a continuation of the downtrend of reported crimes (down by 3pct against the similar period of the last year) with 8pct less street crimes recorded as regards the public order ," reads a MAI release to Agerpres on Monday.
