Promulgated law: 2025 - Year of Cardinal Iuliu Hossu
Publicat:The law that provides for the declaration of 2025 as the Year of Cardinal Iuliu Hossu, for the celebration of his life, work, personality, martyrdom and his determining role in achieving the Great Union and the efforts made to save the Jews during the Holocaust was promulgated, on Tuesday, by President Klaus Iohannis.
Iuliu Hossu was bishop of the Diocese of Cluj-Gherla within the Romanian Church United with Rome, Greek-Catholic, cardinal, senator by law in the Romanian Parliament, honorary member of the Romanian Academy and political prisoner during the communist regime.
