Maritime freight transport down by 3.1 pct overall in Q1, 2021
Publicat:Maritime port freight recorded a decrease of 3.1% in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the similar period of 2020, in the context in which there was an increase of 0.5% in the volume of goods unloaded and a decrease of 6.3% in those loaded, according to data centralized by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
"The decrease by 3.1% of the total volume is caused by the 21.4% decrease registered by national transport and the 14.4% decrease of transit transport; while international transport by inland waterways marked an increase by 22%," states INS .
