Frontex, the EU's border security agency has repeatedly come under fire, accused of supporting illegal pushbacks and using excessive force against migrants. The 2023 Adriana boat tragedy off the Greek coast prompted an investigation by EU ombudsman Emily O'Reilly who presented findings - and criticisms - in late February.
