Gheorghita: There are currently no data to justify fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccines
Publicat:Coordinator of the COVID-19 national vaccination campaign Valeriu Gheorghita said on Thursday that at the moment there are still no data to justify a fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccines, and that even under the first schedule current vaccines provide protection against severe forms of the disease, including Omicron.
"At present, we do not have all the available data to justify the administration of a fourth dose. The booster provides long-term protection, because we know that immunity against Omicron is lost faster than what we knew for the Delta variant," Gheorghita told a news conference.
